NEW ERA X SNEAKER FRIENDS PARTY – ATL!

Oh we killin it! It was all about SNEAKER FRIENDS this weekend in the ATL! GREG STREET got it all good with this dope ass NEW ERA released especially for the event. Rumour has it only 100 were made. The party itself was pretty low key until the VODKA came out…I hit that shit hard and ended up wasted after 1 glass…add that to jet lag and no sleep in 30 hours and you can only guess how loose I got. Props to all the fellas who turned out…CLARK KENT, MAYOR, PREMIUM PETE, ALL THE WAY DAVE, CTOTHEJL, MATT FROM NICE KICKS, IZZY FROM NIKE BESPOKE plus way way more…I just am too tired and exhaustment to remember! Some pics here…more to come!

Check out the steady precision on that YO!MAFIA logo…wtf?! These are so frikkin me it’s retarded! So now when I hit you with the business card I’ll be like “BLAM! Ever since I finished up at REVOLVER FRIDAYS and NOTORIOUS FRIDAYS at ROBARTA I’ve been hounded with gigs on a friday night…but I’ve really wanted to crack down and get a residency where I can really build my RnB/PartyJam/Hip Hop following. I’ve never been part of the (for want of a better word) URBAN scene, but always cut a piece of dance floor at clubs like BROWN SUGAR (ah, the late ’90s!), PLAYGROUND, SOUL CLAP and beyond. I made it a point early on in my career  that if this was the type of music I was going to play, I wanted to play it at venues or nights that weren’t specifically targeted towards the RnB crowd – hence the reason so many of my gigs starting out were supporting rock bands and playing at places that had no other DJ spinnin my style. I’m truly honoured and excited to now finally be welcomed into the scene thanks to Peter and Adrian at ROCKSTARR ENTERTAINMENT with their weekly jam SCRIBBLE. Their vision for the night is exactly what drew me to want to be a resident. It’s the style of music I’ve always loved playing – all those old school jams that make you go ‘THIS MY JOINT’ – all those tunes that bring back incredible memories! MUFF SHOCK!

I know I’ve had this bad boy for a minute now, but never showed ya’ll the finished product! Thanks to the JAPANESE heads of G-SHOCK as well as my main man TRENT who distributes G-SHOCK in OZ (as well as other labels like NZ’s LOWER and beyond) I was fortunate enough to cop my own watch for DJng at the SHOCK THE WORLD TOUR – SYDNEY. I initially wanted gold foil where the YO! MAFIA font is, but due to the materials on the DW6900 1289 the foiling would not stick, so I went all M.A.F.I.A up on this joint and hit it with a crapload of colour. I am so stoked, honoured and proud to rock a collab with a brand that has literally been the one brand I have consistently worn for over 20 years. Yes, I am THAT old! I’m the only one to have the watch, although there was supposed to be a small run made…unforts some sticky fingered fucktards stole all of them, so I have 3 watches in my possession. The plan was to lace my fam and friends, but they’ll just have to juice off mine! My Dad has been buggin’ me for one, so I’ll make an exception there…nothing cuter than Papa Muff rocking his baby’s G-Shock! Pics of that up soon, I promise!

As some of you know, I’ve been invited to ATLANTA to DJ at SNEAKER FRIENDS 2010 alongside DJ CLARK KENT. There’s gunna be a bucketload of VISH’s (Very Important Sneaker Heads) there, and I’m mad stoked to be part of this amazing line up. It all goes down MAY 1st at THE COMPOUND and you can be more than sure I’ll be posting up a crap load of images and keeping you up to date once I get there yo! I’ve been mad busy making travel plans, squeezing in time to jet to NYC and LA before I head home and onto ROTTERDAM for WOEI’s 1st Birthday, where I’ll be spinnin on the ones and twos! I have said all along this year is all about the internationals…so my motto of “I’m in the business of making dreams come true” has once again done me wonders yo! Seriously the amount of times I’ve come here and noticed I haven’t updated in forever is just embarrassing. Like Jay Z, I leave the game only to return again when I feel like somethin’s missing! It’s been a hectic last three months for me. The best thing in the world has happened to me – finally finding my soul mate to spend the rest of my life with…on top of that smashing summer festivals like they’re going out of fashion (see BDO post below)…on top of BDO, I was a jellie mess after my killer set at MEREDITH (photos to come), SANDCASTLES and next up GOOD VIBRATIONS in Feb with my girl SPINDERELLA. It hasn’t stopped yo! But seeing how much traffic I copped after my BDO show, I’ve been forced to get off my ass and update my site…so if you wanna know where I’m playing in the upcoming months, hit up the M.A.F.I.A. The top shot was taken just before I went onstage to rip shit up in the BOILER ROOM at BIG DAY OUT after DEXTER and GRLLA STEP. Within 10 minutes of me bangin’ out party tunes, the whole cot damn tent was full of screamin’ teenagers and sweaty boys! Who knew they fiended cheezy hip hop as much as me. This was definitely one of the highlights of my career, and being blasted on two massive screens side by side of the stage with my shorts falling down as I jumped around like a complete fucktard, was the icing on the cake! I was stupid excited, and was hoping listeners would be up for mayjah M.A.F.I.A. party jams at 1pm! G-SHOCKIN!

Thass right! G-Shock have been throwin down one of the dopest tours with their SHOCK THE WORLD takeover. I’ll be flyin up to Sydney on the 19th to bust out some ’80s inspired mashings and then rockin’ it to the fucktardery with the afterparty, so all my Sydney peeps, hit me up....MUFF DADDY IS COMIN! As part of my duties as a performer, I was asked to customise my own watch – a ridiculous privelage considering it’s the only brand I’ve been rockin’ for over 20 years now. Here’s a sneak peep at one of the bands….it’s not complete, this is just a sample…but you’ll get to see the rool biatch soon. We weren’t given too much to work with, pretty much just font on any style of G-Shock we wanted. I’ll keep the style and the other end of the band hushy hush for now. And if you’re lucky, you may just score one. G-Shock are producing 10 pieces for me to give to family and friends. SICK!
