Ever since I finished up at REVOLVER FRIDAYS and NOTORIOUS FRIDAYS at ROBARTA I’ve been hounded with gigs on a friday night…but I’ve really wanted to crack down and get a residency where I can really build my RnB/PartyJam/Hip Hop following. I’ve never been part of the (for want of a better word) URBAN scene, but always cut a piece of dance floor at clubs like BROWN SUGAR (ah, the late ’90s!), PLAYGROUND, SOUL CLAP and beyond. I made it a point early on in my career that if this was the type of music I was going to play, I wanted to play it at venues or nights that weren’t specifically targeted towards the RnB crowd – hence the reason so many of my gigs starting out were supporting rock bands and playing at places that had no other DJ spinnin my style. I’m truly honoured and excited to now finally be welcomed into the scene thanks to Peter and Adrian at ROCKSTARR ENTERTAINMENT with their weekly jam SCRIBBLE. Their vision for the night is exactly what drew me to want to be a resident. It’s the style of music I’ve always loved playing – all those old school jams that make you go ‘THIS MY JOINT’ – all those tunes that bring back incredible memories! So if you’re down for something new and different that will expose you to only the best in Hip Hop/RnB/Party on FRIDAY NIGHT get down to QBAR for the opening NEXT FRIDAY 16TH APRIL. M.A.F.I.A. X SEKURE D – PT 1
So as you know I’m off to ATLANTA for SNEAKER FRIENDS 2010 and my first thought was ‘shit balls, if I’m spinning with DJ CLARK KENT who has enough rare heat to burn down a desert, then I gotta bring my A-Game!’. Enter SEKURE D, Australia’s number one sneaker customiser, and in my opinion (and I’m sure the rest of the world’s) top 3 of all time next to SBTG and METHAMPHIBIAN (oh and who can forget SAIGON CUSTOMS - who hit me up with the GANGSTA PANDAS!). So my idea was basically to have a shoe that matches my business card – if you’ve got one, you know I pretty much jacked the YO!MTV RAPS trading card template and made my own YO!M.A.F.I.A. card. I’m spewing I never copped that first round of FOREVER FRESH Puma Clydes that dropped, so I’m asked SEKURE to bang out the design on a pair of one of my fave silhouettes – the NIKE AIR FORCE 180! When I received this pic via SEKURE’s crackberry I lost my shit. Check out the precision in his hand work yo! He’s going to make some lady very happy with those nimble fingers 
! There’s heaps more detail to come, so I’ll keep updating this until I receive the finished product. Props go to this amazingly talented young chap, who I’m honoured to call my friend! What a fuckin talent yo!!! SEKURE 4 PRESIDENT!!! Watch out for round two of his GLOBE shoe dropping anytime soon!

SNEAKER FREAKER HQ!
If you’ve ever wondered what SNEAKER FREAKER’S offices look like, photographer PAUL BARBERA was allowed an exclusive all-access pass to every sneaker heads dream! It’s funny cos in the last three years since I’ve worked at Sneaker Freaker, we’ve always kept a tight lip on what goes on behind the HQ doors, so when Paul rocked up with camera in hand I was genuinely surprised that Woody gave him so much freedom. One look at all the photos and you can see why! This guy captures the absolute essence of the magic that goes on at SF as well as takes you through a birds eye view of just what I fortunately get to be surrounded with on a daily basis. MUFF SHOCK!
I know I’ve had this bad boy for a minute now, but never showed ya’ll the finished product! Thanks to the JAPANESE heads of G-SHOCK as well as my main man TRENT who distributes G-SHOCK in OZ (as well as other labels like NZ’s LOWER and beyond) I was fortunate enough to cop my own watch for DJng at the SHOCK THE WORLD TOUR – SYDNEY. I initially wanted gold foil where the YO! MAFIA font is, but due to the materials on the DW6900 1289 the foiling would not stick, so I went all M.A.F.I.A up on this joint and hit it with a crapload of colour. I am so stoked, honoured and proud to rock a collab with a brand that has literally been the one brand I have consistently worn for over 20 years. Yes, I am THAT old! I’m the only one to have the watch, although there was supposed to be a small run made…unforts some sticky fingered fucktards stole all of them, so I have 3 watches in my possession. The plan was to lace my fam and friends, but they’ll just have to juice off mine! My Dad has been buggin’ me for one, so I’ll make an exception there…nothing cuter than Papa Muff rocking his baby’s G-Shock! Pics of that up soon, I promise!

As some of you know, I’ve been invited to ATLANTA to DJ at SNEAKER FRIENDS 2010 alongside DJ CLARK KENT. There’s gunna be a bucketload of VISH’s (Very Important Sneaker Heads) there, and I’m mad stoked to be part of this amazing line up. It all goes down MAY 1st at THE COMPOUND and you can be more than sure I’ll be posting up a crap load of images and keeping you up to date once I get there yo! I’ve been mad busy making travel plans, squeezing in time to jet to NYC and LA before I head home and onto ROTTERDAM for WOEI’s 1st Birthday, where I’ll be spinnin on the ones and twos! I have said all along this year is all about the internationals…so my motto of “I’m in the business of making dreams come true” has once again done me wonders yo! Within 10 minutes of me bangin’ out party tunes, the whole cot damn tent was full of screamin’ teenagers and sweaty boys! Who knew they fiended cheezy hip hop as much as me. This was definitely one of the highlights of my career, and being blasted on two massive screens side by side of the stage with my shorts falling down as I jumped around like a complete fucktard, was the icing on the cake! FITZ-TASTIC!
I can’t say enough about my Claire bear MS FITZ and I’ve made it a point now that she is in NYC to spread the prop train hard on her ass – and she deserves it! I know she’s the most fabbo ghetto stylin’ stylist this side of the Harbour Bridge, but our relationship runs deeper. It’s not about who we know, it’s about what we know – and that is to dance our ass off to an incredible soundtrack of jams from our fave era, the ’90s – well to be correct – she dances, I spin it!
